Festival

The Craigmillar & Niddrie Community Festival 2021 will be a celebration that marks 100 years of Greater Craigmillar since it joined the boundaries of the City of Edinburgh. It will look at Craigmillar now and then; sharing the rich social and cultural history of the area, whilst also celebrating the diverse community that makes up Craigmillar today.

If you are interested in being involved in the Craigmillar & Niddrie Community Festival please email Navida and Sydney at [email protected]

This event will kick off with a parade through the community, open to anyone from the community to join in, celebrating the past 100 years. Led by a bagpiper and highland dancers the parade will start at Bridgend Farmhouse at 11am, and will be at the Craigmillar High flats (Craigmillar and Peffermill Court) at 11.30am, reaching the library by 12pm.

There is a suggested theme of farming for costumes – like farm workers or farm animals, which is to mark the farming traditions in the area 100 years ago.

Following the parade there will be a range of performances, outdoor events, food stalls, workshops, wandering musicians, window decorations, exhibitions, online events, and more! Spaces are limited so if you would like to be part of the parade please contact
